JENNIFER PARKS, MEd, Pre-Licensed Professional
Maybe you are thinking about making a change or you are looking to grow. I work with people who are feeling stuck or looking for support for a variety of challenges, including depression, anxiety, transitions, grief and loss, relationship challenges, perfectionism, and work/life balance issues.
People describe me as calm, nonjudgmental, and kind. I think good therapy helps you to struggle less and to discover things about yourself that you might not have seen on your own. My philosophy in counseling is to help you to create the life you hope for by listening and supporting you in taking steps to create meaningful change.
I enjoy working with individuals and couples. I am an LGBTQ+ affirming/knowledgeable therapist and I welcome people from diverse backgrounds to my practice. Entering therapy for many people is a challenge, and finding someone you trust is the first step. I welcome you to contact me to see if we might be a good fit.
My counseling interests include understanding how our early experiences shape how we move through the world and the belief that given attuned support, healing and finding your own solutions to problems is possible. In counseling I may use aspects of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, mindfulness, and somatic work as they align with your interests and needs.
I have a Master’s of Education from Eastern Washington University and I am currently finishing a Master’s in Counseling Psychology at Bastyr University.
In my free time, you can find me outside with friends and family skiing, biking, and swimming. I also enjoy reading great writing and all kinds of live music.
